What If There Are Artificial Moon Structures?

It’s our 50th episode! Today, we’re talking structures on the moon, the spaceship moon hypothesis, and weird obelisks on Mars. Ryan runs through some of the better-known moon structures. Spencer describes how the moon is probably a hollow egg full of lizards.

Hot Topics: Moon Structures, Moon Bases, Ancient Aliens, It’s Full Of Lizards, That’s Not How Science Works, Space Spiders, Tower Cube, Mars Obelisk, Spaceship Moon, Hollow Moon, and much more.

Moon Structures

Many people have claimed to see artificial structures on the surface of the moon. Everything from mining complexes, to giant, triangular UFOs, to secret alien bases have been said to be present on the moon. Some have very prosaic explanations, like this optical illusion caused by two nearby craters.  Some are blatant hoaxes (see secret alien bases above), and others are more mysterious.

Mars Obelisks

A large obelisk has been spotted on the surface of Phobos, one of Mars’ moons. The 90 meter chunk of of rock appears to be rectangular and standing upright. An impact or erosion likely caused this feature, but some people believe it’s evidence of an ancient civilization. In reference to the “obelisk”, U.S. astronaut Buzz Aldrin said,  “When people find out about that they’re going to say, ‘Who put that there?'”

Hollow Moon

In 1970, Michael Vasin and Alexander Shcherbakov advanced a hypothesis that the Moon is a spaceship. The article was entitled “Is the Moon the Creation of Alien Intelligence?”, and was published in Sputnik, the Soviet equivalent of Reader’s Digest. “It is more likely that what we have here is a very ancient spaceship. The aliens filled the interior with fuel for the engines, materials, navigation, instruments, observation equipment and all manner of machinery.”
