On The Trail Of The Golden Owl is a armchair treasure hunt book by French author Max Valentin. It was published in 1993, and so far, the treasure hasn’t been found. The book contains 11 clues, which if deciphered correctly, will lead the reader to a buried treasure. In this case, the treasure is a golden owl statue valued at 150,000 euro.

The Secret

The Secret is a puzzle book published in 1982 by Byron Preiss. The book features 12 riddles paired with 12 paintings. The reader must match each riddle to its corresponding painting. Then, the reader can use their combined clues to determine a location. The author buried a key at each location. The key can be exchanged for a gem.  So far, two of the twelve treasures have been found. As a result, many people are still searching for the buried keys.

Operation Bernhard

During World War II, the Nazis hatched a plan to forge British and American currency. After making nearly £300 million of fake notes, they planned to drop them over British cities in an attempt to crash the British economy. However, before they were able to carry out their plan, the war ended. As a result, they dumped the fake bills into Lake Toplitz in Austria.
